David Chan Siew Onn Graduated from the University of Singapore in 1980 and was involved in the massive new township developments as architect planner for the initial 7 years. He has been in private practice sine 1986 and was involved in numerous construction and restoration projects in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

Currently, he is involved in land reclamation projects in Malacca which entail comprehensive land-use allocation and transport connectivity. In Kuala Lumpur a high density mixed development is expected to usher in a new generation of tall buildings. Other large scale projects are in the Middle East and include new towns, a telecommunication centre and an international airport.

JPL Consultants is able to draw upon David's 34 years of architectural and town planning expertise and ispoised to providing even more complex architectural, planning and engineering design solutions internationally.










Dip Arch (S'pore)

He was born on 10 May 1943 inJohor, Malaysia.  Graduated with a Diploma in Architecture from Singapore Polytechnic in 1969. As a Director of the company, his role as Director in charge of projects includes regular responsibilities, but also extends to recognise his expertise in CAD and graphics. He set up the computerisation of the firm.

His specialist area in architecture is industrial buildings and his portfolio include projects for Rhone-Poulenc, Schering Plough, Fisons, Firmenich, and the German Centre for Industry and Trade, amongst educational and institutional buildings. His professional record includes a long association with the Singapore Institute of Architects as a Council Member. Other involvements extend to the area of community service as a member of The National Council of Social Services’ House and Building Committee, The Singapore Children Society Convalescent Home Committee, and Volunteer service to the Movement of Intellectually Disabled.

He was also the President of the Rotary Club of Singapore for the year 2003 and 2004.

Architect Daniel Fong is the Associate Director of the firm. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree (honors) from the National University of Singapore. He is a BOA Registered Architect since 2006.

Prior to joining JPL Consultants, he had more than 15 years of working experience in small to medium size private firms, as well as government institutions in Singapore. He has been involved in a wide variety of projects in Singapore covering private residential, institutional, commercial, government and town councils projects.

Daniel has also participated in overseas design consultancy projects in Vietnam, Maldives, Dubai and China. In the course of his career, he has taken on the role of a design architect, project architect, contract administrator, site project manager and interior designer.

  • Office retrofitting at SLF building 5th floor

    • The project involves A&A works to 950sqm of open office space, including a courtroom facility for the National Council on Problem Gambling dept.
  • Office retrofitting at SLF building 16th floor
    • Location: 510 Thomson Road, SLF Building, Singapore
    • Client    : Ministry of Social & Family Development
    • The project involves A&A works to 950sqm of open concept office environment with hot-desking and meeting room facility for MSF.
  • Marymount Kindergarten
    • Location: 790 Thomson Road
    • Client    : Marymount Centre
    • The design brief calls for a 300 capacity kindergarten with a total GFA of 3800sqm comprising of Pre-Nursery, Nursery, kindergarten classes and activity rooms with ample playgrounds and 2 multipurpose halls.
  • Renovation to the public exhibition hall and archives reading room for National Archives of Singapore
    • Location: 1 Canning Rise
    • Client    : National Library Board
    • The project involves 500sqm of A&A works to redesign the existing exhibition hallway and the archives reading room for public access.
  • Office retrofitting at The Treasury 4th floor for Ministry of Trade & Industry
    • Location: 100 High Street, The Treasury
    • Client    : Ministry of Trade & Industry
    • The project involves A&A works to redesign 1500sqm of open office space and a 300sqm lounge and meeting room facility to be utilized and shared by different depts from other floors.

Overseas Projects

  • Interior design works for a new 10-story Alia Office Building in Male', Maldives
    • Location: Male', Maldives
    • Client    : Alia Investments Pte Ltd
    • The project involves interior design to all 10th floor of the new office building, comprising a Yamaha products showroom at the ground floor, various office depts occupied by the company and a CEO exclusive office suite at the top floor.
  • Private resort villa design for Atoll Paradise CEO in Male', Maldives
    • Location: Male', Maldives
    • Client    : Atoll Paradise CEO
    • The house is conceived as a resort villa style of design with spacious open concept living quarters surrounding an infinity lap pool with open decks, outdoor kitchen, sun loungers and daybeds. With a total built-in GFA of 1500sqm, the villa houses 4 kids rooms, 2 master bedrooms, kids and adult home theatre room, games room and a spa centre at the ground floor.
  • Atoll Paradise Call Centre HQ in Hulhumale, Maldives
    • Location: Male', Maldives
    • Client    : Atoll Paradise Pte Ltd
    • The new headquarter aims to expand the Call Center facility for Atoll Paradise business of Holiday Resort Marketing. It will be a symbol of the success the company has earned as a premium holiday resort marketing agency. It is also part of the overall master-plan to include a logistic warehouse, cold storage and furniture retailing office within the site of the HQ building.
  • Oceanic Office Building Interior Office design in Male', Maldives

    • The interior office design houses the administrative division of the corporation. Modern design with lots of glass enclosures and mirror panel finishing to create transparency to the space.
  • Airport VIP Lounge at Gan International Airport, Maldives
    • Location: Gan International Airport, Maldives
    • Client    : Island Aviation Services
    • The lounge serves as a transit point for holiday makers to take a rest while waiting for their resort island's seaplane or speedboat to ferry them from the airport to the resort.
